Red Bull recruits Sergio Perez

F1 team Red Bull replaced Thai driver Alexander Albon, with Sergio Perez for the 2021 season.

Home Red Bull announced on the evening of December 18, that Perez will race with Max Verstappen in season 2021. Albon is still an important member of the team, in a reserve role.
Perez may be the last racer to change teams for the 2021 season. Only one unconfirmed position left for the 2021 season, is defending champion Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes. Perez’s presence could increase Red Bull’s chances in the championship race with Mercedes. “I have dreamed of playing for the competitive championship team since day one of F1,” said Perez after moving to Red Bull.
Perez had to leave Aston Martin – Racing Point’s new name – after the 2020 season, making room for Sebastian Vettel. He seemed to be sitting out in the 2021 season, even after winning F1 at the Sakhir Grand Prix for the first time. But, Perez’s move to Red Bull could make Mexican racers fans flock to the streets to celebrate.
Perez was born in 1990 in Guadalajara, Mexico, started F1 with the Sauber team in 2011. He started at 191 races, 10 times to podium. In the 2020 season, Perez finished fourth, behind Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas and Verstappen. Before that, his best position was Saturday, for Force India – the former Aston Martin name – seasons 2016 and 2017.
And Albon did not succeed in the 2020 season, when it was ranked seventh. The British-Thai Thai racer has twice made to podium, in Tuscan and Bahrain this season.
List of riders in season 2021, only missing Hamilton’s position at Mercedes.
